NUAI researches how capital decisions are actually made — in venture markets through NUVC, and in how companies themselves are built and run. This page indexes what is published, what is in production, and what is still being validated.

The evidence base

We research from our own data.

What separates a research house from a blog is where the evidence comes from.

Owned Ecosystem database

A proprietary database of the Australian and New Zealand venture ecosystem — investors, funds and GP firms, accelerator cohorts and the companies that came through them. Built and maintained in-house, not licensed.

Tracked Longitudinal outcomes

Companies and funds are followed over time, so a claim can be checked against what actually happened rather than against what was announced. Most venture data is a snapshot; the useful part is the trajectory.

Revealed Behaviour, not statements

Alongside stated mandates we record what investors actually back. Where the two diverge, that gap is itself a research finding — one we report carefully and do not overclaim.

State of Asian-Australian Startups

A co-produced report with SeedPlanet covering the Asian-Australian founder and investor ecosystem — funding patterns, sector concentration and outcomes — drawing on NUVC's Australian and New Zealand startup and accelerator data. NUAI leads the research and authorship; SeedPlanet distributes it into diaspora channels that most English-language coverage does not reach.

Publication date and scope figures not yet set — they will be published here when they are confirmed, not before.

Methodology Under revision

NuScore validation

NuScore is the assessment engine behind NUVC. Its published accuracy figure is currently being restated against a larger verified-outcome sample, using a metric that does not depend on a single decision threshold. Until that is complete we publish no headline accuracy number.

The methodology itself, and the academic programme built on it, are published by NUVC — nuvc.ai/research is the canonical source. We do not restate it here.

Thesis Published

The Agentic Enterprise

The organisational thesis behind NUAI — building companies where AI agents do the building and operating work, and human judgment concentrates where it matters most — is written up in first person by Tick Jiang, including a forthcoming book of the same name, at tickjiang.com.

That is the practitioner's account. This page is the company's research index, not a retelling of it.

How we publish

The same standard we build products to applies to what we publish about them. Figures are traceable to a dataset and a method. Uncertainty is stated rather than rounded away. A finding that does not survive re-examination gets withdrawn and said so — publicly, on this page.

Where research touches a live product claim, the product claim moves only after the research does — which is why the accuracy figure came off the marketing before the new one existed to replace it.
